About the game

Each team rules an island in a chain of twelve. Every round, teams can send messages and proposals to the other islands: trade deals, alliances and non-aggression pacts.

Then each team secretly submits its orders: build, trade, sail or raid. All the orders are revealed at the same moment, so you only find out whether your ally kept their word when the results appear.

Your host plays the harbourmaster, announcing storms and shipwrecks along the way. The real challenge is deciding whom to trust, and when breaking a deal might be worth it. It's the opposite of Faithful or Traitor: there, teams work out who's lying; here, teams decide whether to lie.

  • Negotiation, alliances and the odd betrayal
  • Secret orders revealed at the same moment for every team
  • Storms and shipwrecks announced by the harbourmaster

Questions

Will it cause real fallouts?

It's all in good fun. Breaking a deal is part of the game, and your host keeps things light and makes sure everyone enjoys it.

How is it different from Faithful or Traitor?

In Faithful or Traitor, teams work out who's lying. In The Archipelago Accord, teams decide for themselves whether to keep their word.

How does a hosted virtual game work?

Everyone joins your usual video call. We split the group into teams of up to 10, each in its own breakout room with a dedicated host who shares the game on screen and types in the answers the team agrees on. A live leaderboard keeps the competition going.

How far ahead do we need to book?

At least 48 hours ahead, Monday to Friday. Same-day sessions are sometimes possible on request: book as usual and we will confirm as quickly as we can.

Is there a minimum or maximum group size?

There is no maximum. The minimum booking is £150 + VAT, so groups under 13 people pay the minimum.
