About the session

Burnout rarely arrives overnight. It builds up through long weeks, missed lunches, late emails and the feeling that there's no way to say no. By the time anyone notices, it's often too late.

In this session teams follow a fictional team through a busy six months. At each stage, teams look at the evidence (calendars, messages, workload, what people say and don't say) and spot the warning signs. Then they decide what should have happened, and who could have done it.

The session ends with your own team's early-warning system: how you'll notice when workload is getting too much, how you'll raise it and what you'll do about it. It works especially well with managers in the room.

Questions

What's different in the 60-minute version?

The 60-minute version follows the story in three stages instead of four and has a shorter team agreement. The 90-minute version gives teams time to build a fuller plan.

Is it suitable for managers?

Yes. It works well for managers on their own, and even better when managers and their teams do it together.

Is this therapy or clinical advice?

No. It's a practical awareness session, not a substitute for professional support.

What if the session brings something up for someone?

Our hosts keep things practical and never ask anyone to share personal experiences. Every session ends with where to find support, including your own employee assistance programme if you have one, and organisations such as Mind and Samaritans.

How does a hosted virtual game work?

Everyone joins your usual video call. We split the group into teams of up to 10, each in its own breakout room with a dedicated host who shares the game on screen and types in the answers the team agrees on. A live leaderboard keeps the competition going.

How far ahead do we need to book?

At least 48 hours ahead, Monday to Friday. Same-day sessions are sometimes possible on request: book as usual and we will confirm as quickly as we can.

Is there a minimum or maximum group size?

There is no maximum. The minimum booking is £150 + VAT, so groups under 13 people pay the minimum.
